The five All Progressives Congress lawmakers representing Osun State in the National Assembly, known as the G 5 bloc, have dismissed claims that President Bola Tinubu assured Governor Ademola Adeleke of support in the upcoming August 15 governorship election.

In a statement issued on Sunday in Osogbo, the lawmakers said the allegation was false and urged the public to disregard what they described as politically motivated misinformation.

The group includes Senator Adenigba Fadahunsi, Senator Olubiyi Fadeyi, Hon. Oluwole Oke, Hon. Bimbo Ajilesoro, and Hon. Sanya Omirin.

They stated that President Tinubu never at any time endorsed or promised support for Governor Adeleke, stressing that no political agreement of such nature was reached during any meeting.

According to the lawmakers, the only interaction involving the governor and the presidency was a Sallah homage visit by Adeleke’s family in Lagos, which they said was wrongly misrepresented as a political endorsement.

They further claimed that they have held several engagements with the President, during which no discussion suggested any support for the Osun governor. Instead, they said Tinubu expressed confidence in the ruling party’s strength in the state.

The lawmakers also dismissed allegations linking the President to secret political arrangements, insisting that such claims were designed to mislead voters ahead of the election.

They urged supporters of the All Progressives Congress to remain focused and support the party’s governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, describing him as the best option for the state.

The statement also accused opposition elements of spreading misinformation, warning that such narratives could distort public perception and undermine democratic engagement.

They expressed confidence that the APC remains strong in Osun State and capable of securing a decisive victory in the upcoming election, citing past electoral performance as evidence of support.

The lawmakers reaffirmed their loyalty to the party and pledged to mobilize voters across the state in support of the APC candidate.
