Presidency Launches Registration for Free Financial Inclusion Training for 10 Million Nigerians

The Presidency has launched registration for a federal government initiative to train 10 million Nigerians in financial inclusion and literacy. The program is free and open to all citizens, facilitated by WAWUAfrica, Africa’s premier integrated leadership and organisational excellence ecosystem for empowering women. Vice President Kashim Shettima launched the registration during a virtual meeting involving the Presidential Committee on Economic and Financial Inclusion (PreCEFI), six professional bos, and development partners including the World Bank, African Union, ECOWAS, and the National Information Technology Development Agency. Represented by Special Adviser Dr Tope Kolade Fasua, Shettima emphasized the program’s potential to not only impact Nigerians but also create a global influence originating from Nigeria.

The training covers digital literacy, information technology, financial literacy, economic literacy, service delivery, healthcare and wellness, creative arts and design, business and entrepreneurship, trade and engineering ss, and hospitality and tourism. Shettima commended all partners for collaborating effectively to actualize the program and noted its potential to expand further in terms of partnerships and impact.

Dr Nurudeen Zauro, Technical Adviser on Economic and Financial Inclusion, emphasized that the training is entirely free and warned citizens against scams. He explained that participants will be guided on how to log in to the portal and register successfully.

The six professional bos involved in designing the program include the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers, National Institute of Credit Administration, Chartered Risk Management Institute, and Nigeria Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The initiative aims to equip Nigerians, particularly women and youths, with financial ss, investment knowledge, and digital competencies for sustainable wealth creation.
