Gov Yusuf Accepts Resignation Of Kano Water Resources Commissioner

Governor Abba Yusuf has accepted the resignation of the Kano State Commissioner for Water Resources Umar Haruna Doguwa with effect from March 3.

The development was confirmed in a statement issued in Kano by the governors spokesperson Sanusi Dawakin Tofa. According to the statement the resignation takes immediate effect bringing an end to Haruna Doguwa tenure in the state executive council.

Before his redeployment to the water resources ministry Haruna Doguwa had served as Commissioner for Education where he was credited with contributing to reforms in the education sector. During his time in the water resources ministry he also played a role in efforts aimed at expanding access to water supply across parts of the state.

Governor Yusuf expressed appreciation to the former commissioner for his loyalty commitment and dedicated service to the people and government of Kano State. He acknowledged Haruna Doguwa contributions in both ministries and wished him well in his future endeavours.

Following the resignation the governor directed the Commissioner for Education Ali Haruna Abubakar Makoda to oversee the water resources ministry pending the appointment of a substantive commissioner. The move is aimed at ensuring continuity in administration and avoiding any disruption in the operations of the ministry.

The resignation comes at a time when Kano State continues to address challenges related to infrastructure and service delivery. Observers note that maintaining stability within the cabinet will be crucial as the government pushes forward with its development agenda.
