Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has officially joined the All Progressives Congress APC, leaving the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in a move aimed at advancing the welfare and development of his state. In a statewide broadcast on Friday, Fintiri explained that the defection was motivated by the larger interest of Adamawa residents and the need for closer collaboration with the federal government.
Fintiri urged citizens to remain supportive and committed to the government’s programs, emphasizing that unity is essential to realizing the dividends of democracy. He also praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his efforts in reviving the national economy and pledged to work hand in hand with the federal authorities to deliver tangible results for the state.
The announcement concludes weeks of speculation over Fintiri’s political alignment and confirms his shift from PDP to APC. He reaffirmed that his ultimate goal remains the growth and development of Adamawa, highlighting that the new political alignment will facilitate stronger partnerships and more effective governance for the benefit of the people.
