Afrobeats superstar Davido has come under intense social media scrutiny after mistakenly directing his anger at Nigerian gospel artiste Adejumobi Oluwatosin, popularly known as Tosin Bee, amid his ongoing child custody dispute.

The controversy followed Davido’s emotional appearance at the Lagos State High Court over the custody of his daughter, Imade, whom he shares with estranged partner Sophia Momodu. During proceedings, Davido reportedly clashed with a lawyer identified as Ebelechukwu Enedah, accusing her of making insensitive remarks referencing his late son.

In a heated Instagram post that quickly went viral, the singer lashed out at the lawyer, calling her wicked and unprofessional. However, matters escalated when Davido reposted content from Tosin Bee and appeared to confuse the gospel singer with the lawyer, making harsh comments that triggered backlash from fans.

Supporters of Tosin Bee flooded social media to defend the gospel artiste, who later clarified that he had no connection to the lawyer or the court case. In a calm response, he described the situation as a case of mistaken identity and offered prayers and support to Davido despite the online hostility directed at him.

Many users demanded a public apology for Tosin Bee, while others noted that emotions can run high in sensitive family disputes. Some observers also suggested that the unexpected controversy had unintentionally boosted the gospel singer’s visibility.

Later on X, Davido announced he would withdraw the custody case, emphasizing that he had only sought joint custody and not full custody of his daughter. He expressed disappointment over the courtroom exchanges, particularly references to his deceased child, describing it as a lowest blow.

The unfolding drama adds another chapter to the high profile custody battle, drawing mixed reactions from fans and the public alike.
