Federal Government Spends $250 Million to Improve Electricity Supply in Federal Universities and Hospitals

The Federal announced on that it has invested approximately $250 million to enhance electricity supply to 24 federal universities and four teaching hospitals. This initiative is part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration’s efforts to access, particularly to underserved and unserved communities across Nigeria.

The government revealed that the funds were allocated to develop renewable energy solutions, such as , to ensure that these institutions have a reliable and sustainable source of electricity. The universities and teaching hospitals, which are essential for and healthcare services, often face challenges with inconsistent power supply, their operations and the quality of services they provide.
