Edo Governor Okpebholo Approves Minor Cabinet Reshuffle

Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has approved a minor reshuffle in the State Executive Council, aimed at strengthening governance, improving service delivery, and enhancing administrative efficiency.

The announcement was made in a statement signed by Musa Ikhilor, Secretary to the State Government (SSG), on Friday in Benin. The reshuffle involves key personnel changes across the state’s ministries and the Governor’s Office.

Under the new arrangement, Mr. Vincent Osas Uwadiae, who previously served as Commissioner for Oil and Gas Resources, has been redeployed to the Ministry of Lands and Housing. Meanwhile, Mr. Yakubu Oshiorenua Musa, formerly Commissioner for Lands and Housing, has been appointed Chief of Staff to the Governor.

Alhaji Gani Audu, the current Chief of Staff, has been nominated to take over as Commissioner for Oil and Gas Resources, pending confirmation by the Edo State House of Assembly.

The SSG emphasized that the reshuffle is effective immediately and forms part of the governor’s broader strategy to ensure effective coordination, seamless policy implementation, and overall improvement in governance within the state.

Governor Okpebholo expressed confidence that these strategic adjustments will enable his administration to respond more efficiently to the needs of Edo residents and strengthen operational synergies across the executive council.

This move reflects ongoing efforts by the Edo State government to optimize leadership placement and promote institutional excellence as part of its commitment to sustainable development and enhanced public service delivery.
