Zendaya has spoken warmly about working alongside her fiancé Tom Holland, describing him as a “calming presence” on set and her favourite co-star. The 29-year-old actress met Holland while filming Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017, and the pair have since gone on to collaborate on multiple projects.
Speaking to the Sunday Mirror, Zendaya said working with Holland puts her at ease and positively affects everyone around him on set. She acknowledged that some may find it awkward to work so closely with a partner but said the experience has only been a positive one for her. While admitting she may be biased, she described Holland as both her favourite person and her favourite person to work with.
The couple, who are known for keeping their relationship private, said they strive to strike a balance between protecting their personal lives and living normally. Zendaya explained that while they are careful about their privacy, they do not want to hide away or avoid everyday activities such as going out for dinner. She added that although some aspects of privacy are inevitably beyond their control, the parts they can control are “fiercely” protected.
Zendaya and Holland currently split their time between West London and California. The Euphoria star also revealed that the UK has begun to feel like home to her, even though her work commitments mean it cannot be a permanent base at the moment.
