The family of a 32-year-old veterinarian, Abdul-Quadri Afolami, has appealed to the public for assistance in locating him after he was reported missing under troubling circumstances.
Afolami, who resides with his parents in Abeokuta, Ogun State, reportedly disappeared after leaving his home for the Berger area of Lagos State on Sunday, December 28, 2025. Family members said he informed relatives of his intention to travel to Lagos before departing but never arrived at his destination.
Described as tall, fair-complexioned, and slim, Afolami was said to have set out for Lagos in good health and spirits. However, concern grew when repeated attempts to reach him by phone several hours after his departure were unsuccessful.
Speaking on behalf of the family, his uncle, Dimeji Atinuke, said they became alarmed when his phone stopped connecting later that day. “We waited till evening and tried calling him several times, but his phone was not connecting. That was when we knew something was wrong,” he said.
According to the family, the matter was promptly reported to the police after Afolami was declared missing. Security operatives have since been involved in efforts to trace his whereabouts, but no meaningful breakthrough has been recorded so far.
“There has been no ransom demand, no call, and no message from anyone since he disappeared,” Atinuke added. “That silence is what worries us the most because we have no confirmation of his safety.”
The family has therefore appealed to members of the public who may have seen Afolami or have any information that could help locate him to contact the nearest police station or reach out directly to the family. They stressed that even seemingly small details could be vital in finding him.
As of the time of this report, Abdul-Quadri Afolami remains missing, with his family holding on to hope and praying for his safe return.
