The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has declared its readiness and strong determination to win the forthcoming area council elections scheduled for February 21, 2026. This assurance was given by the party’s spokeswoman in Abuja, Josephine Itoyah-Splendor, in a statement released on Sunday.

Ms. Itoyah-Splendor emphasized that internal challenges within the party would not affect its performance in the elections. She highlighted that the PDP candidates are individuals of integrity and commitment, duly approved by the then-Umar Damagum-led National Working Committee and officially validated by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

“Let it be known far and wide: the PDP is solidly united. We are not merely participating in these elections. We are marching forward with the clear intention to win, and to win handsomely,” she stated.

She further underscored the party’s track record of delivering progress, stability, and development in the FCT, asserting that the people recognize PDP’s vision as grounded in service and achievement rather than empty promises.

Addressing attempts to undermine the party’s candidates through misinformation, Ms. Itoyah-Splendor dismissed such propaganda as tactics by opponents rattled by PDP’s strength and preparedness. She affirmed that all candidate documentation is legitimate and unaffected by any internal party issues.

“There are no factions, no divisions, no distractions within the PDP regarding the election,” she said, affirming the national leadership’s full support for the Abuja chapter.

ADC Promises Not to Repeat APC’S Past Failures

Ms. Itoyah-Splendor called on PDP supporters across the FCT to remain steadfast and vote with pride and conviction. She urged residents to reject non-performing parties and support the PDP, describing it as the only party that consistently delivers on its promises and champions the people’s cause.

“The PDP is alive, united, and ready. Victory is not just possible; it is inevitable,” she concluded.

In her words, “PDP remains the torchbearer of Nigeria’s democracy. PDP is your party. PDP is the party of progress. PDP is the party that delivers.”
