The head of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church issued a stark warning to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Sunday, pressing for urgent action to bridge Nigeria‘s deep tribal divides and avert a potential revolution. In a statement released by his media aide, Oluwatosin Osho, the cleric underscored that disunity permeates nearly every facet of Nigerian society, threatening the nation’s peace and stability.
The prophet painted a grim picture, asserting that divisions—spanning politics, religion, and tribal lines—have left Nigeria fragmented. “Something needs to be done about Nigeria,” he said, noting that the lack of cohesion across geopolitical zones and ethnic groups is a pressing concern rarely voiced to the president. He singled out football as the sole unifying force, lamenting that even the Super Eagles’ lackluster performance has weakened this fragile bond.
He cautioned that an ethnic crisis looms if the government fails to act decisively. “Tribes dislike one another, and this threatens the unity of the nation,” he warned, adding that neither religion nor shared governance has succeeded in fostering harmony. He argued that the pervasive disunity would persist even if the Igbo ethnic group ascended to power, as the root causes remain unaddressed.
Proposing a solution, the cleric called for a systemic overhaul, including a referendum to “reset everything.” He stressed that the government must tackle the issue head-on, both practically and spiritually, to avert disaster. “We need to truly unite, and this issue is present everywhere—even among those working for the president, in the civil service, just everywhere,” he said, pointing to a lack of trust and affection even within Tinubu’s inner circle.
He linked Nigeria’s daily toll of deaths and skewed electoral outcomes to this “disease” of disunity, describing it as seemingly incurable and a drag on the economy, spirituality, and morality. “There is no love in this country; even those working with Tinubu don’t love him,” he claimed, urging a spiritual approach to forestall a revolution.
The prophet’s message is a clarion call for unity, warning that without addressing these foundational fractures, Nigeria risks spiraling into chaos—a concern he believes demands immediate attention from both the government and its citizens.
