The DP World Tour and Amazon Web Services have formed a partnership that names AWS the “Official Cloud Provider” of the Tour. The deal will use AWS cloud tools and AI to bring new services for fans, media teams, and players.
Using AWS’s AI systems, the Tour will link live data with past records to give richer, real-time views of play. Fans will see streamed clips and on-demand highlights that focus on chosen players. The teams will also use generative AI to make new fan features, such as instant shot commentary, data-led insights, and quick translation into many languages.
Nina Walsh of AWS explained the aim clearly: “Imagine following a crucial shot on your mobile device and instantly understanding not just the distance, but the historical success rate, the impact of the wind, or how the player performs under pressure, all narrated in your preferred language. That’s the experience we want to deliver to every golf fan worldwide.”
The Tour will move its large media archive into an AI-driven Media Asset Management system. This tool will tag video and other assets automatically, making it easy to find clips, players, and key moments. That will let the Tour offer more personalised content so fans can follow the players they care about.
For spectators at events, AWS will build a new version of the Tour’s “Virtual Twin” product. This creates a digital model of each course and uses over one million data points per event. The system combines past data, current conditions, and simple forecasts to give a clear view of every hole. Screens around the venue and mobile apps will show these views so fans can follow action from anywhere on the course.
Overall, the partnership aims to make Tour content easier to find, more personal, and more useful in real time for fans and broadcasters.
I dont trust AWS, theyll probably sell our data to aliens 👽
Aliens are the least of your worries. Focus on real data security threats. Trust AWS.
Why are they choosing AWS? Shouldve gone with a smaller, more innovative provider!
AWS offers reliability, scalability, and a wide range of services. Its a strategic choice for many businesses.
I cant believe they chose AWS! Shouldve gone with Google Cloud. Thoughts?
AWS is more established and reliable. Google Cloud may not have been the best choice.
I dont trust AWS, theyre too powerful. What about data privacy?
Trust AWS, they prioritize data privacy. Power doesnt equate to compromise.
I think DP World Tour made a mistake. They shouldve chosen Google Cloud over AWS.
Google Cloud isnt always the best choice. AWS has its advantages too. Its not a clear-cut mistake.
I dont trust AWS with my data, whats DP World thinking? 🤔
