Presidency Confirms Ongoing Talks for Tinubu–Trump Meeting, Emphasizes Diplomatic Protocol

The Nigerian Presidency has given an update on a proposed meeting between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and US President Donald Trump as Special adviser to President Tinubu on Media and Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala expresses his optimism that President Tinubu will soon meet with his American counterpart.

‎However, statements made by Bwala issues that Tinubu will meet with Trump anytime either at the White House or the State House. He speaks about protocol being the key to anything that involves diplomacy.

‎He further stated that he will not be pressured into revealing the stage that they are at in this discussion because in diplomacy there must be respect for protocol. He dismissed reports that the United States would not place sanctions on Nigerians.

‎According to him, if sanctions are imposed on Nigerians, it is the people who will bear the heat. He disclosed that the Nigerian government has clearly understood Trump’s message and is addressing it and that results will begin to showcase soon.
