Shiites Clash in Abuja Leaves Two Policemen Dead, Disrupts Commercial Activities

A recent clash between members of the Islamic Movement of (IMN), commonly known as the sect, and law enforcement in the Federal Capital Territory (), , has resulted in the deaths of two policemen and injuries to three others. The violent confrontation also led to disruption of commercial activities in the Wuse District and widespread destruction of , including the burning of three vehicles.

The incident, which has become an all-too-familiar occurrence in the FCT, unfolded when IMN members reportedly attacked a police checkpoint in the Wuse area. According to FCT Commissioner of Police, Bennett Igwe, the sect members were with machetes, knives, and makeshift weapons such as locally made bombs and improvised .
