In a significant turn in the legal conflict between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni over their film “It Ends With Us,” Taylor Swift has agreed to testify. Swift’s attorney, J. Douglas Baldridge, confirmed that despite her limited role in the case, she is willing to be deposed between October 20 and 25. Lively’s legal team has expressed concerns about the timing of this deposition request, fearing it might jeopardize the trial set for March 2026. Baldoni’s lawyers have indicated that Swift’s deposition needs to occur in late October, given her prior commitments.

The lawsuit originated from allegations of sexual harassment and retaliation that Lively filed in December 2024 against Baldoni. In response, Baldoni countersued Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, for defamation and extortion, although his countersuit was dismissed in June 2025. The film, which achieved box office success upon its release in August 2024, has been entangled in controversy due to tensions between the lead actors.

Swift’s involvement is particularly intriguing as she contributed the song “My Tears Ricochet” to the soundtrack and was present during some re-shoots. Her testimony could shed light on production dynamics and the relationships among the cast and crew. As the trial date approaches, the situation is garnering significant media attention, with both Lively and Baldoni publicly engaged in disputes regarding the film’s promotion and subsequent fallout.
