Paramount secures exclusive U.S. UFC streaming rights in $7.7 billion deal

In a reshaping the landscape of sports broadcasting, Paramount has secured exclusive U.S. rights to broadcast Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in a seven-year deal valued at $7.7 billion. This agreement, on August 11, 2025, a significant shift from the traditional pay-per-view model, aiming to make UFC content more accessible to a broader audience.

Under the terms of the deal, Paramount’s streaming service, Paramount+, will become the exclusive home for all UFC events in 2026. This includes 13 major numbered events and 30 “Fight Nights” annually, with select marquee fights also to air on CBS. The move is expected to eliminate the pay-per-view model, allowing subscribers to access all UFC content at no additional cost.

The agreement follows Paramount’s recent merger with Skydance Media, which finalized in July 2025. David Ellison, CEO of the newly formed Paramount Skydance Corporation, emphasized the strategic importance of live sports in driving subscriber growth and engagement. He described UFC as a “ sports powerhouse” and highlighted the value of its year-round events in attracting and retaining subscribers.

The organization, owned by TKO Group Holdings, stages 43 live events annually, reaching a global fanbase of nearly 950 . The deal also paves the way for broadcasting initiatives. UFC President Dana has confirmed to host a major event on July 4, 2026, on the South Lawn of the White to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United . This unprecedented event will be broadcast live on CBS, showcasing the potential for high-profile collaborations between the UFC and Paramount.

Analysts view the agreement as a strategic move by Paramount to strengthen its position in the competitive streaming market.
