Robin Kaye, a seasoned music supervisor for “American Idol,” and her husband, Thomas Deluca, were tragically found dead in their Los Angeles home on July 14, 2025. Both 70 years old, they were discovered by police during a welfare check in the Encino neighborhood, each having suffered fatal gunshot wounds.
Authorities arrested 22-year-old Raymond Boodarian in connection with the double homicide. Investigations suggest that Boodarian entered the couple’s residence through an unlocked door while they were away on July 10. Upon their return, a confrontation ensued, leading to the fatal shootings. Boodarian fled the scene on foot, and surveillance footage later identified him as the suspect.
Robin Kaye had been a pivotal figure in the music industry, serving as the music supervisor for “American Idol” since 2009. Her extensive career also included roles in productions such as “The Singing Bee,” “Hollywood Game Night,” and “Lip Sync Battle.” An “American Idol” spokesperson described her as “a cornerstone of the Idol family” and expressed deep sympathy to her family and friends during this difficult time.
