Robin Kaye, longtime ‘American Idol’ music supervisor, and husband found dead in Los Angeles home; 22-year-old arrested in connection with double homicide

Robin , a seasoned supervisor for “American Idol,” and her husband, Thomas Deluca, were tragically found in their home on July 14, 2025. Both 70 years old, they were discovered by police during a welfare check in the Encino neighborhood, each having suffered fatal gunshot wounds.

Authorities arrested 22-year-old Raymond Boodarian in connection with the homicide. Investigations suggest that Boodarian entered the couple’s residence through an unlocked door while they were away on July 10. Upon their return, a confrontation ensued, to the fatal shootings. Boodarian fled the on foot, and surveillance footage later identified him as the suspect.

Robin Kaye had been a pivotal figure in the music , serving as the music supervisor for “American Idol” since 2009. Her extensive also included roles in productions such as “The Singing Bee,” “Hollywood Game ,” and “Lip Sync Battle.” An “American Idol” spokesperson described her as “a cornerstone of the Idol family” and expressed deep sympathy to her family and friends during this difficult time.

The deaths of Kaye and Deluca have prompted an outpouring of from colleagues and artists. Former “American Idol” contestants, Nick Fradiani, praised Kaye’s professionalism and kindness, highlighting her crucial support the scenes. Fradiani remembered her as compassionate and supportive, noting that she “helped make my time on the show an unforgettable experience.
