Jigawa State Governor Suspends Commissioner Pending Investigation by Kano Hisbah

Governor Umar A. Namadi of has approved the immediate of Auwalu Dalladi Sankara, the Honourable Commissioner of the Ministry of Duties and of the State Council, an investigation into raised by the Kano State Hisbah.

On , the Kano Hisbah Board confirmed the arrest and detention of Auwalu Dalladi Sankara, stating that he would be charged in court on Monday. According to Hisbah Director General, Abba Sufi, the commissioner was found with Tasleem Baba Nabegu, a married woman with , in an uncompleted owned by him.

Sufi disclosed that the Hisbah had been Sankara based on received against him. The arrest followed a complaint by the woman’s husband, Nasiru Bulama, who accused the commissioner of engaging in an affair with his wife. Bulama had filed the complaint with the Kano State Police Command, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Hisbah Board.

The Hisbah Director General further alleged that Sankara had been operating illicit centers disguised as hotels, where activities related to drug addiction and prostitution took place.
