A 24-year-old man, identified as Dada Opeyemi Adesonye, was found dead after reportedly hanging himself from a tree in the Afami area of Imasayi, located in Yewa North Local Government Area, Ogun State. The tragic discovery was made on Friday morning by a worker in the vicinity.
Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident in a telephone conversation with PUNCH Online. According to her, the Divisional Police Officer reported the suspected suicide at approximately 8:27 am, following an alert from an employee at Dangote Cement Transport in Ibese.
The employee came across the lifeless body at around 8:10 am along the Dangote-Afami Road and immediately informed the authorities. Odutola stated, “On October 18, 2024, at approximately 08:27 am, the Divisional Police Officer reported a suspected suicide incident. An Assistant at Dangote Cement Transport in Ibese informed the Dangote Police Post that he discovered a lifeless body around 8:10 am.”
