Veteran actor Chiwetalu Agu has shared seven key pieces of advice for Nigerians as they navigate the challenges of the current economic situation. In an Instagram post, Agu highlighted the importance of making wise decisions during these tough times.
Agu’s first piece of advice focused on health, urging Nigerians to avoid falling sick, given the increasing difficulty in accessing affordable healthcare. He emphasized the significance of staying healthy as medical costs continue to rise amid economic instability.
He also recommended keeping phones functional and data active, stressing the importance of staying connected and informed. Additionally, he advised staying hydrated and eating healthy, even as many people struggle with access to basic necessities.
However, Agu’s most emphasized point was avoiding pregnancy, warning of the immense difficulties in raising a child during such economically uncertain times. In a video, he stated, “Here is a list of things to watch out for, the way things are going in our country today. Number one, try not to fall sick if possible,” highlighting the growing difficulties of healthcare access.
He continued: “Number two, make sure your phone is in good shape and ensure your data is active. Number three, make sure you drink plenty of water and healthy food, that is, if there is food to eat.”
He particularly stressed avoiding situations that might lead to pregnancy: “Number 4, don’t get anyone pregnant in this hard time. Number 5, avoid actions that could land you in prison. Number 6, remember rule number four, don’t get anyone pregnant. Number 7 is always to follow rule number 4 again—don’t get anyone pregnant.” He concluded with a final and crucial point: “Pray to God.”
Agu’s advice serves as practical guidance for many Nigerians striving to cope with the soaring cost of living. His emphasis on health, financial management, and personal responsibility highlights the importance of making conscious decisions during challenging times.
